As I sit here with tears in my eyes I think of my Heavenly Father who holds them all.
How deep His hands must be to hold all those tears that have been cried.
How strong His arms must be to hold us when we’re alone and afraid.
How large His heart must be to love us through the good and the bad.
How knowledgeable His mind to know everything past, present, and future.
How creative and awesome His imagination to have created everything large and small.
How tender a Man to say, “I love you, no matter what you've done.”
I’m thankful for
His hands to hold my tears.
His arms to hold me when I’m feeling alone.
His heart to love me through thick and thin.
His mind that knows both my beginning and my end.
His creativity to have made the large world and my small intricate body.
His tenderness that calls to me and says, “I love you.”

“Our chief want in life is somebody who shall make us do what we can”
~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
We want people in our life to inspire us to become who we know, and sometimes don’t know, we can be. Sometimes it takes a little human encouragement to boost us in the right direction. Sometimes we don’t know what we’re capable of until someone says something that sparks an interest in our mind and a passion in our heart.
Sometimes we doubt that our passions really are our passions. Sometimes it’s like it almost comes up too strong too quickly so we think that it can’t be real. It can be. God can use anything at any time to throw a curve in your life and give you a new passion.
Be an Inspiration.
Search for inspiration.
Let everything be God inspired, whether directly from him or from him through someone else.

"For this reason, ever since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers. I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints"

Leading love down the pathway - april 16, 2009
"But I don't care what they say I'm in love with you, they try to pull me away, but they don't know the truth”
That was my Aunt’s ring tone on her phone last fall when my Uncle was in the hospital. I heard that song an awful lot and grew to like it. Today when I heard it on the radio, I thought of my aunt and how during the whole hospital stay after the accident, she was at the hospital 24/7 for weeks. People kept trying to get her to leave the waiting room, or leave the hospital for a little while just to get away. That’s a good idea sometimes. Too much of one place can make a girl crazy, but she knew how much time she needed and when she needed it to get away, even if it was just a walk down the hallway.
She showed her love by staying by his side the whole time, always staying positive around others, and she was there no matter what, even more so when things got tough. It made me think of God and how He never leaves us when things get tough. He’s always beside us, never giving up, no matter how “sick” or “hurt” we are. He’s right there with just the right dose of “medicine”, we just have to be willing to take it and follow all His directions to continue on the healing process. Sometimes He puts us through “physical therapy” – it might hurt for a little while, but in the end you’ll be better for it.
Sometimes we break, sometimes we stumble, and sometimes we fall. He’s always there to carry us along and if we let Him, put us back on the His stable pathway. It’s when we think we know the directions so we veer off to the left or right thinking it’ll be a fast route that we end up lost and in trouble, calling out for help. Keep straight on His path; it’s the only way to get to your destination. He’s the only one who knows where you’re heading. How can you take control of something you know nothing about?
Nehemiah 9:19 ~ "Because of your great compassion you did not abandon them in the desert. By day the pillar of cloud did not cease to guide them on their path, nor the pillar of fire by night to shine on the way they were to take.”

where is love? - march 31, 2009
I found this tonight, I wrote it awhile ago. Don't remember ever posting it thought.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Where is love? Sometimes love is right in front of you. Other times It’s hidden deep in the depths of the ocean. You must dive deep into someone’s life. Someone’s heart. It’s a scary dive. There are deep, dark caves to explore where scary things can hide, but you must have faith that the air you’re breathing and the one you’re searching is enough to keep you safe. There are also beautiful things down there that you cannot even explain. You just have to jump in and hope you can swim, searching for the treasure chest and finding the key
just the begining - feb 28, 2009
Once upon a time, there was a beautiful girl named Annabella (which means Grace and Beauty.) She loved to sit outside in the garden under the midnight stars as they shined brightly, the wind blowing through her beautiful hair, bursting with gigantic curls. Annabella closes her lovely, mysterious, midnight blue eyes, taking in the breathtaking smells of the garden, feeling the cool and gentle breeze as it blows through the warm evening air, listening to the delightful sounds of the waterfall and the pleasant chirping of the crickets. There, there is a welcomed peace.
There was a handsome boy named Caleb (which means Faithful and Bold), admiring Annabella through the magnificent rose bushes. Caleb had always loved Annabella but had never told her. He stood there, trembling, trying to determine if he should go talk to her or not. Caleb finally mustered up enough courage, took a deep breath, and slowly began the walk towards the bench opposite Annabella, quietly sitting down, she never heard him.
Opening her eyes, Annabella was surprised to discover Caleb, with his deep, caring, sea green eyes, watching her. Annabella blushed and smiled.
“May I sit with you awhile?” asked Caleb?
“Of course you may. What are you doing out here this late?”
“Just admiring the beauty of God’s creations. I should ask the same of you, Bella.”
“Thinking.”
“About anything in particular?” asked Caleb.
“ Life. My future. God. Love. You know, all the things a girl thinks about.”
“That’s quite a lot to think about. Do you come here to think often?”
“Yes, I do. It’s a quiet and thought provoking place.”
“Maybe I should let you get back to your thinking then. I’m sorry to have interrupted you Bella. Good nights and sweet thinking.”
“You don’t have to go Caleb. I don’t mind sharing my thinking space, or time. It’s nice to have someone around to bounce ideas off of once in a while.”
Hours passed as Caleb and Annabella sat under the stars, discussing everything and then some. They laughed at things from childhood, and dreamt of things to come. They talked about what they wanted to do in the future, both wanting to help others in their chosen professions, Bella desiring to become a nurse, and Caleb, a firefighter. They talked about the beauty of the garden, the smells and sounds that it held, and how peaceful it was. They talked about the hope of some day getting married, and the beautiful children they would have, neither one of them brave enough to think about the possibility of their future together.
The sun was starting to rise, orange, blue, pink, and purple, above the waterfall before they realized it.
“Oh my goodness, what time is it?” asked Bella.
“6:15am – wow, we’ve been talking for six hours, I think that’s a record!”
“I do believe I should be heading back to the house, it’s time to get ready for the day.”
“Thank you for allowing me to stay and talk with you in the garden, Bella. I enjoyed it very much. You are very bright and caring.”
Blushing, Annabella replied, “As are you. You are welcome to join me anytime.”
“I will, my love, don’t worry,” whispered Caleb as they parted their separate ways.
On her way home, all Bella could think about was Caleb and the fantastic conversations they had had. She had known Caleb most of her life, but this was the first time she had seen Caleb in a different light. In the light of the stars, he looked almost grown and kind of, handsome in a way.
“What am I doing, thinking about Caleb like that? He’s just my friend. I’ve known him forever. He’s still the gross little boy that used to pull my pigtails,” thought Annabella to herself, “I can’t think of him LIKE THAT, can I?”
Caleb grinned from ear to ear all the way home. He was replaying the conversation from that night over and over again.
“Bella’s so beautiful, the stars brought out the twinkle in her eyes. She really cares about important things,” thought Caleb, over and over again.
“Will she ever think of me LIKE THAT, or will I always be her ‘little brother?”
A mystery to both of them, Caleb and Annabella had the same uncertainties about their relationship.
A few nights later while sitting on the sofa reading, Annabella’s phone rings, slightly confused because it’s getting late, she answers.
“Hello?”
“Hi Bella, it’s Caleb. I was wondering if you would like to go for a walk. It’s a beautiful night, the crickets are chirping and the moon’s so bright you can see as if it were daylight.”
“Caleb, it’s almost eleven p.m. Is everything alright?”
“Everything’s fine, I just thought you would enjoy the incredibe radiance of tonight. The full moon is perfect for photographing.”
Caleb caught her attention there. Full moon? Radiant evening? Photographing? He knew just want to say to get her to agree. He pulled at her heart strings.
“Sure. When and where?”
“Now. Look outside.”
“Caleb, I’m in my pajamas, hang on a second!”
Running up stairs to change into some comfy clothes, Bella has a grin as big as Texas.
Once changed out of her pajamas and into a pair of black sweatpants and a pink t-shirt, Bella applied a dab of blush and a touch of lip gloss. Taking a deep breath she collected herself and headed back down the stairs.
“Why am I so nervous?” Bella asked herself, “it’s just Caleb.” But somewhere deep inside, she knew why. Grabbing her camera, she took one last deep breath before opening the door.
To her surprise, Caleb was wearing blue jeans and a brown polo. Bella allowed herself to acknowledge that he looked mighty handsome, standing there on her porch late at night, moon shining bright above, with a boyish grin on his face.
“I’m so glad you agreed to walk with me. It would have been quite embarrassing to be standing on your porch and for you to have refused,” he said with a wink.
They walked down the road in silence for a few minutes, until they came upon a field of wildflowers.
“What’s your favorite color?” asked Caleb.
“Purple. Why?”
Running into the field, Caleb finds a huge handful of all different kinds of purple wildflowers. Returning to Bella with a sweetly nervous smile, he hands her the flowers, “That’s why.”
Admiring their beauty and being enticed by their sent, Bella said, “They’re beautiful, thank you.”
“Beautiful flowers for a beautiful girl.”
“Oh no!” thought Caleb, “Did I just say that out loud?”
Bella blushed, “That’s so sweet. Thank you. You aren’t too bad looking yourself,” Said Bella with a sweet yet sly smile.
Taking Bella’s camera from her hand, Caleb started to snap pictures of her dancing around the field, in the moonlight, admiring her flowers. She was beaming as bright as the moon. Shortly afterwards, they started to take pictures together, the field and mountains towering behind them made a beautiful landscape, even in the dark. Before long, a summer storm raged upon them, splitting thunder, exploding lightning, and hammering rain drenched them. Sprinting through the gigantic puddles that were now flooding the streets, Annabella slipped and fell, twisting her ankle in the process. Rushing to her rescue, Caleb scooped up the drenched Bella, carrying her back to her house.
Once inside, Caleb went to get the shivering Bella a towel to wrap around her and keep her warm. By this time, Bella’s ankle had begun to swell a little, the sweet Caleb returned with the towel, wrapped it around her, and went to the kitchen to get some ice to keep the swelling down. Being in a great deal of pain from the sprain, Bella asks Caleb to bring her some pain reliever from the cabinet. Grabbing two pain relievers, a bag of ice and pouring two glasses of sweet tea, Caleb heads back into the living room to check on his patient. With a thankful smile, she takes the pills with a long gulp of tea as Caleb places the bag of ice on her ankle.
“What a great way to ruin the evening, I’m sorry I’m such a klutz.”
“It’s not your fault. I’m sorry that the rain ruined our walk, it was beautiful when I first called you.”
“It’s not your fault either, do you want to watch a movie since you’re already here?” ask Annabella hopefully.
“I’d love to.”
Struggling to get up Annabella says, “I’m going to go change out of these wet clothes, I’ll be right back.”
“Let me help you.”
“I’ve got it, thank you though,” just as those words came out of her mouth, Caleb caught her as she started to teeter.
“Can I help you now?”
Laughing, Bella agreed to allow him to help her. Picking her up as if she weighed nothing, she put her arms around his broad shoulders and was carried to her bedroom.
Sitting Bella on her bed, Caleb asked, “Can I bring your clothes to you? I don’t want you trying to walk around the room after trying to walk in the living room.”
Bella’s face turned a light shade of pink, “Sure, just grab a pair of sweatpants and a shirt out of the closet, but excuse the mess.”
Caleb handed her a pair of dark blue pants and a yellow shirt that brought out the color of her eyes, “I’ll be outside, call me when you’re finished.”
Closing the door behind him, Caleb stood in the hallway. He heard movement in Bella’s room and knew she was trying to move around the room on her own.
After changing her clothes, Bella was determined to get over to her dresser to put fresh deodorant on and fix her hair, which was now one giant frizz ball. Slowly hobbling along, she eventually made it. Pulling her hair back into a barrette and applying a touch of lip gloss, she looked into the mirror and thought to herself, “I don’t look too good, but this is as good as it gets, he’ll have to live with it.”
Making her way back to her bed, she sat down, exhausted, and called to Caleb that she was finished. When he walked back in to get her, he was speechless. There she was, sitting on her bed, hair still frizzy, eyes shining bright, looking so innocent and young, but yet so beautiful. He couldn’t help but smile.
Once again he picked her up with no effort and carried her back to the couch. Flipping on the T.V they skimmed the channels for something to watch, settling on a cheaply made comedy. Fifteen minutes later Bella was starting to get hungry, “Do you want some popcorn?” she asked.
“I’ll get it. Where do you keep it?”
“In the cabinet beside the microwave, top shelf.”
“Good place for it. Can you reach it all the way up here?” he asked with a chuckle in his voice as he peered around the corner.
Laughing, Bella responded, “Don’t pick on me just because I’m short.”
“Would I do such a thing?” Caleb asked as he put the popcorn into the microwave and set the timer.
“You? Never!” teased Bella.
Searching the kitchen for a bowl to put the popcorn in, Caleb finds a large metal one in the cabinet by the refrigerator. Dumping the popcorn in, he returns to Bella in the living room. Sitting beside her on the couch, he hands her a blanket and the popcorn. Laughing at how ridicules the movie was Bella realized what an incredible laugh Caleb had and how a once boring night was turning into the best adventure she could have asked for. Halfway through the movie, Bella became sleepy. Absentmindedly, she leaned over and curled up against Caleb. Smiling to himself, Caleb put his arm around her and held her while she slept.
rant and rave - feb 18, 2009
I really dislike it when people, guys especially, try and make you feel like an idiot. How come when I don’t do what you want me to do or I speak up for myself you have to argue with me and always be right? Why can’t you just let a girl be right for once? Why do you say that girls can’t be logical? Why can’t you talk to girls on the same level you talk to guys? Why do you have to try and make me feel guilty when I don’t do what you want me to do? Why, instead of saying, “your priorities aren’t right” can’t you say, “We missed you, hope you can come next time.” Or “We would love to have your input on this subject, if you could make it.”
I would love to be treated and spoken to as an equal. I know there are things that guys are better at than girls and vice versa, but the way you speak to me should be respectful, just as I should speak to you respectfully.
When you treat me this way it’s a good way to get me to rebel… I need guys in my life that are going to show me what to look for in a spouse, right now I’m being show what NOT to look for in a spouse, which I guess is good too.
My dear friends that are showing me what to look for positively in a spouse thank you. I appreciate you very much. You show me the strength and good characteristics to look for and show me the goodness in a Godly young man.
good guys - feb 17, 2009
My cousin asked the question today,
“why good guys are so hard to find these days??”
When I started to type my reply, saying that I wanted to know the same thing, this is what came out, from my heart to my hands, never passing through my head,
“Actually I think they're probably all around they're just the shy ones that no one pays attention to...they need to speak up and let their kindness shine!”
I know there are good guys out there. I have some amazing friends that are truly good guys. Guys are meant to be dangerous and adventurous; they aren’t supposed to be all prim and proper. They should still be gentlemen and have manners, but I also want someone who’s willing to take risks. If they aren’t willing to take a risk, then no one would ever get asked out, get married, ect..
"Safe? Who said anything about safe? 'Course he isn't safe. But he's good." ~ C.S Lewis
Thank you to the GOOD GUYS out there – Share your kindness, don’t keep it to yourself. We want to know that you’re out there. Don’t be discouraged if you think you’re going unnoticed, if you’re nice, we notice you. YOU are the guys girls want to marry, not the unkind, un-thoughtful ones that they date in high school and college.
Be yourself – we love you for who you are.
“why good guys are so hard to find these days??”
When I started to type my reply, saying that I wanted to know the same thing, this is what came out, from my heart to my hands, never passing through my head,
“Actually I think they're probably all around they're just the shy ones that no one pays attention to...they need to speak up and let their kindness shine!”
contently waiting - Jan 27, 2009
Today I was listening to the Fireproof sound track on my way to school. I realized that I hadn't prayed for my future husband in awhile. Even though i don't know who he is, where he is, what he's going though, or pretty much anything about him, I feel like it's a good thing to do. When I was in middle school or early high school I started to write a prayer journal for him, but then it turned into more of a diary, whoops - lol
While I was praying for him the song, while i'm waiting, came on. I thought it was kinda cool because here i am happily praying for the unknown future and having no idea how long i'm going to be waiting or anything about it and this comes on and i'm content with waiting.
I know that it's going to be for the better. Sometimes it is hard to wait for the unknown, but when you know the reward is much greater it makes it easier. There's a purpose for your singleness and a purpose for your married life - you just have to fulfill them and be content. Use the time you're given to better prepare yourself for the next journey in your life.
WHILE I"M WAITING - John Waller
I'm waiting
I'm waiting on You, Lord
And I am hopeful
I'm waiting on You, Lord
Though it is painful
But patiently, I will wait
I will move ahead, bold and confident
Takeing every step in obedience
While I'm waiting
I will serve You
While I'm waiting
I will worship
While I'm waiting
I will not faint
I'll be running the race
Even while I wait
I'm waiting
I'm waiting on You, Lord
And I am peaceful
I'm waiting on You, Lord
Though it's not easy
But faithfully, I will wait
Yes, I will wait
I will serve You while I'm waiting
I will worship while I'm waiting
I will serve You while I'm waiting
I will worship while I'm waiting
unity is the desire - Jan 22, 2009
The Transcontinental Railroad (T.R.R.) brought the East and West coast together. They had to depend on each other for the things they needed to live. Some places had the things that other places couldn’t because of the agriculture in their area wasn’t fit for it. The final spike they put into the T.R.R had a prayer inscribed on it about bringing the nation together in unity as the railroad had brought the East and West coasts together.
We, as the Body of Christ, are also called to unity. We are all part of the Body – we all have different jobs. Some people are better at some things than others. Sometimes one person can do something amazing and another can’t do it quite as well. It’s alright, that’s the way we were designed. We all have to pull together to get the job done.
We are all dependent on God, but we’re also dependent on each other’s gifts and talents. We are all in each other’s lived for a reason. We all have a special talent and gift to give each other.
Sometimes my friends are there to show me when I’m stupid. Sometimes they explain things to me that I’ve taken very literal. Sometimes it’s to show me something I never knew or something I knew but was ignoring because I didn’t want to pay attention to it. They are also there to make me laugh and to bring a smile to my face, but they are mostly there to show me Jesus and His love.
I can see the love of Jesus through my friends by the way they love others. They are so caring of people. I see the way they help others and desire the best for their lives. I also feel them loving me through everything, even when I’m a jerk. They show me Jesus when they bust out on the car ride from Gville that we need to pray for ‘so and so’ and then whip out an amazingly beautiful prayer, right then and there. They show me love when they ‘adopt’ orphans so they can survive long enough for someone to actually adopt them. My friends share their fears, struggles, hopes, dreams and passions. They make me want to be more passionate.
I’m thankful for my friends and the unity in Christ we all share. I pray we continue to build unity and bring more and more people into our unity. It’s a lost world out there and we need to reach them at school, work, and everywhere else we go. Like Brandon Heath’s song, “Give Me Your Eyes” says:
“Give me your eyes for just one second
Give me your eyes so I can see
Everything that I keep missing
Give me your love for humanity
Give me your arms for the broken hearted
Ones that are far beyond my reach.
Give me your heart for the ones forgotten
Give me your eyes so I can see”
When the battle's - Jan 19, 2009
When the battle’s raging all around us, our emotions are in a heap, and we can feel the dragon breathing down our neck, it is then we try and reach out to our Heavenly Father’s loving arms. It’s in Him we can relax. His arms are always open wide. Protecting us for the dragon now is slain.
He’s our Protector, Provider, Savior, and Comfort in time of need. Always present Help in time of trouble, just call on Him and He will be there ready to fight. God of mercy, God of grace, helps us live our lives day by day.
The Prince has now rescued the princess from the dragon of doom. He always has loved her and has been waiting for her cry of surrender and need. Standing beside her the whole way, letting her do it, but wanting desperately to help save her from so much pain and heartache along the way, but the stubborn princes had to wait until the day she could no longer do it on her own. The Prince was a very happy man on the day He was able to do what He’d been waiting His whole life to do. Save. Help. Protect. Love. Provide.
you never know - jan 19, 2009
“You never know what you’ve got till it’s gone”
*inspired by TobyMac’s “Gone”
When things leave your life there are usually mixed emotions about it, though sometimes they may be all positive or all negative, depending on what is gone. Lots of times you are sad for the loss but know that there’s a purpose behind it, a much bigger and better one then you can ever imagine
.
For example, like the song, “Gone” by TobyMac – you’ve lost a boyfriend/girlfriend and are upset about it. Yes, of course you can be upset, for a time, but at a certain point you have to move on. One day you will realize why the other person is no longer part of your life. You’ll either find someone perfect for you that makes you look back and see that you wouldn’t have been happy with anybody else and God knew you wouldn’t fulfill His purpose for your life with the anyone else in your life. Or – God will show you something in the other person’s life that you are thankful to no longer be a part of.
When things leave your life that makes you sad because you thought they were for good, they may have been good for a season, but your season is changing and they are no longer a part of your future. They might even hurt your future if you hold on to them for too long. Sometimes you know you need to let something go. Sometimes that might mean hurting someone for a short period of time, but in the end you will both be thankful and the hurt won’t seem so bad, especially if you know it’s what needed to be done and it was done in love.
Listen to your heart. Listen to God’s voice. You don’t want to have to get knocked over the head because it’s not fun for awhile, but God will do what He needs to do to get your attention when necessary. In the end you will be thankful. Everything will turn out for God’s purpose and it will be a million times greater than we can imagine for ourselves.
Listen to His voice. Surrender when need be. Follow His path. Love unconditionally. Don’t just put a smile on your face, but put one in your heart as well. Talk to God, He will answer. Maybe not today and maybe not the way you want Him to, but He will do it in His perfect timing
Passion, like love, is an adventure that you look forward to. - Jan 2, 2009
Passion.
What drives you?
What excites you?
What puts a sparkle in your eye?
What do you dream about?
When does your heart race like it never has before?
Passion is what you love.
Passion is what you live for.
Passion, like love, is an adventure that you look forward to, even though it may be scary.
Passion is a fire in your soul that no one can put out.
Never let your passions die.
Follow your dreams.
Love with all your heart.
Live like you’re not afraid.
Trust in yourself.
Believe what your heart tells you.
Live each day to its fullest.
Don’t let others kill your spirit – share it with others but don’t let them have it.
Forget the people who hurt you, but not the things they taught you.
Always remember those who have been there for you.
Be there for others who need your support – you might be the only one who can help them.
Share love, laughter, and dreams with those you love.
Smile at every sunrise and sunset remembering that that is God shining His love down upon you.
Stare at the stars and watch them twinkle - twinkle like the proud eyes of God.
You are a gift, a special and rare present from God to the earth.
What is your purpose?
What is God’s plan for your life?
Listen and it will be revealed.
Keep on walking even though it may be scary.
I love you and God loves you.
You can make it through everything with His help and the help of your friends.
Share your fears and worries, but don’t dwell on them.
Take chances.
Let go and have faith.
Be compassionate.
Hope.
Dream.
Seek.
Trust.
Believe.
you maybe behind me yet You're always in front of me... - Dec 30, 2008
Throughout the last year I’ve been hurt, disappointed, saddened, overjoyed, excited, overwhelmed, loved, unloved, stressed, relaxed, used, and abused, but through it all I’ve grown. Things that I didn’t think had any purpose ended up teaching me great things. People I love and people I can’t stand have all been valuable people in my life and have shown me things that only they can show me.
I’ve had moments where I thought I knew what I wanted and what the future held only to have to break in front of me. I’ve had God hit me upside the head when I wouldn’t listen, either I didn’t hear it or didn’t want to hear it. Sometimes I wonder if He sits up there and thinks, “Why won’t they just listen?”, “Why do I have to hit them upside the head?”, “that was stupid!”, or “come on dummy.” - Of course I know He doesn’t think those things. He created us and if he thought those things about us I’m sure He would have just destroyed us long ago.
Thankfully He loves us and gives us help along the way through this difficult and confusing life. Sometimes we don’t take it and other times He wants us to ask for it. God will lovingly show us the path before us, it may be in small doses throughout a large amount of time, but He does reveal His plan to us.
Instead of telling us how dumb we are, He tells us, “My dear son/daughter, I know life is hard. Lean on ME, I’m here to help you though it all. You just have to trust me. I love you and only want the best for your life. There’s no need to worry about it. Follow the path I place in front of you and you’ll make it through. It won’t be easy, but with MY help it will be more bearable.”
I’m looking forward to all He has to teach me, show me, and revile to me next year. I know it won’t be all fun there will be hard times, heartache, tough times, but there will also be lessons learned, fun had, love given and received.
Allow God to lead you through 2009 – follow His will and discover your purpose. You won’t discover it in overnight, and you may not discover it next year, but you will discover more and more of it until the day it is completely revealed to you.
Start by finding your purpose of the day, everyday.
Don't take for granted - Nov 19, 2008
- Don’t take anything or anyone for granted.
- Hold on to everything you value dear to your heart. -- “The value of something isn’t determined by how much it appreciates, but by how much you appreciate it.”
- Always express your love and thankfulness. --“Don’t just think your thanks, express your thanks.”
- Leave nothing unsaid.
- Don’t hold grudges.
- Let your family and friends know you love them. You never know what’s going to happen, when your, or someone else’s last day is going to be.
- Don’t let something happen that you will leave saying “I wish…” You wish you said this, or you wish you did that.
- “Do what you say and say what you mean.”
I take things for granted all the time; I’m continually improving on that. I used to take my friends and family for granted, but now I try and always tell them that I love them.
I used to take the stars for granted, but then one day I looked up and saw them twinkling! How amazing it is to stand outside in the pitch black with the stars twinkling and the moon shining down brightly.
I used to take for granted the people who risk their lives every day for mine and your safety. I now realize how special those people are and how important their job is. I never hear a siren without stopping to pray for the people in trouble, their families, and the Emergency Service people, whether it be police, EMS, or firefighters, and even someone in a military uniform.
“God gave you a gift of 86,400 seconds today. Have you used one to say "thank you?"
-William A. Ward
“Appreciation can make a day, even change a life. Your willingness to put it into words is all that is necessary.” -Margaret Cousins
“Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it.”
-William Arthur Ward
Thank you my friends and family. I love you all and am thankful for each one of you!
Praying for you always.
Garden of life - Nov 18, 2008
In the garden of life
there will be struggles and strife.
From the mountains to the seas,
flowers grow and spread their seeds.
Plant the seeds, let them grow;
water with care so love you will show.
Little birds and butterflies
always sing as they flitter by.
Sometimes storms come along
trying to flood us but we hold on strong.
Thunder and lightning we will not fear,
because we know You’re always near.
Lighting the way when the power goes out,
protecting us from a terrible drought.
Things will get better you will see,
for in the end a promise comes to you and me.
A rainbow to say “I love you”
with colors bright as morning dew.
Things to come - Nov 16, 2008
Up in the vastness of the deep blue sky
I look at the stars as they twinkle and sigh.
Awe and wonder fill my heart
God above creates awesome art.
My eyes can see only a small part
of those big, beautiful, gigantic stars.
I lay outside dreaming of things to come
with inspirations from Heaven above.
One day soon it will be you and me
we’ll be together and full of peace.
On our own, never apart,
together forever connected by heart.
Sticking together through thick and thin,
fighting with each other till the end.
When things get tough,
don’t give up for this will never end.
Through every argument I’ll remain,
by your side at the end of the day.
We can stand together with pride
because we never ran to hide.
Ups and downs, twists and turns,
the road of life we will learn.
You’ll be my best friend day after day
a constant companion, my steady mate.
The shoulder to cry on when things get tough,
my rock to lean on when things are rough.
I hold the lock, and you hold my key.
You are always a hero to me.
Mistake - Nov 13, 2008
Someone made the mistake of making the comment to me yesterday, I don’t know why we were talking about this, that I shouldn’t marry a “fireman, EMT, Paramedic, or Doctor (I would assume that also means police and military too) because they’re always on call, work the weekends, and their jobs are too dangerous.”
WOW! That’s a brave thing to say to me. I was not a happy girl. I have developed a much deeper love and respect for these men and women in the last few months. Not that I didn’t respect them before, it has just intensified. I have seen closer up the power and affect they have on people and what a difference they make in lives every day.
I probably would RATHER marry one of those. Most of those guys love what they do, they are always willing to help people in need, and they have seen so much life and death that I can’t imagine they wouldn’t be the most loving people in the world. They know what it’s like to be here one minute and gone the next. That would make me more loving towards my family.
Yes, their jobs are dangerous, but that’s okay because God is always watching over them. When things do happen, they are for a reason. That doesn’t mean that if I were to marry one that I wouldn’t ever worry about him. You bet I would worry about him, all the time, but also would put him in God’s hands knowing that He sends His angels to help those in need and protect those who help those in need.
This is going to sound wrong at first, but if I had to have something tragic happen to my husband, either injury or death, not that I would want any of that to happen but, I would rather it be while he was doing something he loved and was passionate about rather than just driving home from the office. Every job has its risks. Does she think that those men and women shouldn’t be married? What a way to treat the men and women protecting and fighting for us every day. Getting in the car to go ANYWHERE is a risk to EVERYONE. Never take advantage of a moment because you never know when it’s going to be your last.
I can’t imagine someone who doesn’t like to help people. I love to help people. I don’t think I could marry someone who doesn’t help others. We would probably get into arguments because I would want to help and he wouldn't. I don’t think that would work well. I also can’t marry someone too helpful because we would both just help and give, becoming tired, worn out, and poor. I need that someone who can balance me out. Helping when able, but also knowing when it’s too much. I know he’s out there somewhere and God’s writing our amazing love story. He may be here and he maybe there but really he could be anywhere.
I don’t care who I marry as long as “I love you, you love me, we’re a happy family (haha, sorry I couldn’t resist :-) )” If your job is legal, and we have food, clothes, love, and a warm place to sleep, then do what you wish. I will always pray for your safety no matter what you do.
Follow your dreams. Live your passions. Give freely. Love with everything you have.
You bet I would worry about him, all the time, but also would put him in God’s hands knowing that He sends His angels to help those in need and protect those who help those in need.
This is going to sound wrong at first, but if I had to have something tragic happen to my husband, either injury or death, not that I would want any of that to happen but, I would rather it be while he was doing something he loved and was passionate about rather than just driving home from the office. Every job has its risks. Does she think that those men and women shouldn’t be married? What a way to treat the men and women protecting and fighting for us every day. Getting in the car to go ANYWHERE is a risk to EVERYONE. Never take advantage of a moment because you never know when it’s going to be your last.
I can’t imagine someone who doesn’t like to help people. I love to help people. I don’t think I could marry someone who doesn’t help others. We would probably get into arguments because I would want to help and he wouldn't. I don’t think that would work well. I also can’t marry someone too helpful because we would both just help and give, becoming tired, worn out, and poor. I need that someone who can balance me out. Helping when able, but also knowing when it’s too much. I know he’s out there somewhere and God’s writing our amazing love story. He may be here and he maybe there but really he could be anywhere.
I don’t care who I marry as long as “I love you, you love me, we’re a happy family (haha, sorry I couldn’t resist :-) )” If your job is legal, and we have food, clothes, love, and a warm place to sleep, then do what you wish. I will always pray for your safety no matter what you do.
Follow your dreams. Live your passions. Give freely. Love with everything you have.
one look - nov 11, 2008
One look at the stars makes me fall in love like a beautiful dream.
One gaze at the mountain so majestic and high takes my breath away.
One glimpse of the moon so large and round helps me know everything's okay.
One glance at the tree with its colors aglow stops me in my place.
One sight of a sunrise and I know the extent of His amazing grace.
The invitaion - nov 11, 2008
The invitation’s open for all to come near
open up your heart and let them be shear.
Share your beauty with all those around
let them know where beauty can be found.
Give them reason, come what may
that you may be their resting place.
When troubles come around the bend
let them know you’ll be their friend.
Always and forever through thick and thin
I will be there till the end.
When doubts and troubles come your way,
call on me and we’ll fight through till the end.
Lean on me and I’ll lean on you
together we will see you through.
Helping each other along the way,
gaining strength day by day.
One - Nov 11, 2008
Up to Heaven our prayers have flown,
exceeding answers are becoming known.
Straight from our mouths to God’s ear,
our hearts desires He does hear.
Promises He always keeps,
leading and guiding us through boundless heaps.
The journey is long with selfless love
with peace and hope from our God above.
A stronger bond is what we did reap,
making the family a bit more complete.
Keep watch over us throughout the night,
peace and love with every new sight.
When everything is said and done,
we are a family tied together by One.
One accident that lead us here,
and One God above who shows He cares.
open your eyes - nov 7, 2008
Those big blue eyes we can’t wait to see,
Open them quickly so we may feel relief.
Trusting in God with all that we have,
Expectations are high, and will be achieved.
Open your eyes so we may see
The shining light you were meant to be.
Catching a glimpse as we try to understand,
The anticipation of what lies ahead.
Once again you will see the world through His eyes
Giving others a chance to come inside.
Showing your hopes, fears, and dreams
Letting Him help you as He has helped me.
Show us the way of life now to love,
Kindness and Compassion. Faithfulness and trust.
Teach me to help others with all that I have,
Giving of myself without any regret.
You’re always giving all that you have
Helping others who have treated you bad.
Mercy and grace always with you go
Giving to others you don’t even know.
Tenderness is something you always carry,
Giving freely wherever necessary.
over the rainbow there's a promise from God (sometimes underneath) - Nov 5, 2008
Over the rainbow there's a promise from God
though sometimes it's underneath a curtain of fog.
When the sky is no longer blue look up at the rainbow
and remember there's a God that loves you.
When you are hurting and can't find hope
look up above and let your prayers float.
He always answers with a "Yes. No. or Wait."
He wants you to follow Him with every step you take.
When things are crumbling down at your feet,
look up to Heaven where everything's complete.
Ask Him for help, He'll lovingly guide you along the way.
Giving you strength to make it every day.
unafraid to fight - Nov 4, 2008
Firemen are unafraid to fight.
They are willing to give their life
for all those in need.
Everything’s alright,
they will save your life.
Let freedom ring.
They are the stars and stripes
protecting us with their lives.
With courage we’ll never know.
Admiration they should receive.
They deserve respect.
And some never get
the essential thanks
they all need.
For Uncle Mark and his Firefighting family
A great big thanks - Oct 31, 2008
I have a really big place in my heart for the Firemen, Emergency Medical Personnel, Law Enforcement, and Military. The more people I know in those positions and the closer and bigger a part they play in my life, the more and more I realize what they do and the risks they are taking.
I have so much love, respect, and thankfulness for yall. My heart is full of pride for you. I’m proud that you have the courage and desire to do what you do. My eyes are filled with tears for the thankfulness of you and the respect of you, your spouses, and families. Willing to risk so much for people you don’t know and may never know.
I see the closeness of these communities at the hospital with my uncle. I’m not normally there when the Firemen, Police, and EMT’s are, but I’ve heard about them and seen enough to know that yall love and take care of each other. You’re a family.
When I see a fire truck or ambulance I can’t help but smile (I would do the same for police, but I’m always worried that something’s wrong with my car or my driving so I’m too scared they’re going to pull me over to smile :-p)
Thank you all!
I love you!
P.S – Get well soon Uncle Mark so you can go kick some fire butt!
inspiration comes and goes. Where it'll come from, nobody knows - Oct 22, 2008
The sun is shining brightly. There’s not a cloud in the sky. It’s a beautiful day. I close my eyes, taking a deep breath; the wonderful smell of fall is in the air. I feel the cool, crisp wind blowing, my arms obtain goose bumps and I reach for my favorite sweatshirt.
My ears are opened by the beautiful sounds of birds as they tweet a sweet song as they fly by. Opening my eyes, I spot a sparrow up in the tree. Its beautiful feathers and song catch my eyes and ears. I watch it as it rests, gaining the strength to take another flight.
The trees are still green, they don’t changing colors here. There aren’t beautiful yellows, oranges, reds, or browns like in the mountains. My heart is saddened by this realization.
My heart soon becomes happy again. I know that this was all created because I love it. The coolness, the breeze, the sun, the colors (when leaves change, even though they don’t change here), and the sounds of the birds call, I love it all. It’s all God’s love letter to me. It’s Him saying, “Hey, I love you! This is my way of showing you. You see how beautiful all this is? You’re even more beautiful. Life wouldn’t be the same without you.”
I♥Beautiul Mountains - Oct 16, 2008
I had this huge urge in my science class today. We were talking about using water to create energy. My Professor was telling us of places that could more easily use that source of energy, which turn out to be mountainous places, such as North Carolina, Tennessee, Alabama, etc.
Then the subject of fireplaces came up and how we used to use them for heating houses and such. I totally spun off into this crazy image where I was living in North Carolina, in the mountains, with beautiful fall colored tree, a fireplace, “wonderful” yet “dangerous” husband, and our beautiful children.
Later when thinking about it, I also realized that I need someone who likes to help people. I love to help people. Where I’m going to find someone in Florida with those same desires, I don’t know. I do know that God will provide me with someone who’s heading in the same direction I’m heading in or vice versa. We will be going there together, hand in hand, helping each other along the way.
Safe? not safe, but good - Oct 8, 2008
Seriously, what the heck...
I'm 0-2 so far this year...i've attracted 0 "nice" guys and 2 players...why is that?
Am I not a nice girl or am i too nice?
I know i'm supposed to depend on God for my worth, but it would be nice if a "nice" guy thought i was pretty and wanted to spend time with me..
By "nice" I don't mean he has to be perfect and uncrazy and unadventurous, he doesn't have to be "safe".
"Safe? Who said anything about safe? 'Course he isn't safe. But he's good." ~ C.S Lewis
i want to be able to trust him with my heart. I want to go on an adventure,not having to be scared, and being able to know that my HEART is safe in his possession.
haha - oh well...
I know my heart is being spared from heartache with all the wrong guys and being prepared for an adventure with the right one, free of previous heartache.
Irreplacable role - Oct 1, 2008
Sometimes the relationships in our lives feel useless, we feel like no one cares if we’re there or not. Sometimes it feels like there’s a purpose in our relationships that we are there, loving each other through whatever’s going on.
Women and men have irreplaceable parts to play in the lives of others. You are the only person who can fill a particular void in someone’s life. Every one fills a different slot in our hearts.
Relationships are opposed. The devil hates love. He tries really hard to destroy any kind of love relationship, family, friends, or romantic. Relationships must be fought for. They must be fought for spiritually, physically, and emotionally.
The devil takes the ezers,“Sustainer beside him”, out of our lives, separating us, making women feel like they have nothing to offer. That’s a lie! Women have been sent to love in relationships. We MUST fight for them.
The fellowship of Christ is also opposed. We live in a world filled with danger. Satan hates the church, but he hates Eve (women) even more. God wants good men to have authority, to offer protection over us. It is to help us grow, not to shrink us. It should set us free. Man is God’s warrior, sent to help lead us safely in the right direction.
What’s your calling? Some women have a calling into the world. Women must live in the world as unique and beautiful women, being careful to not get caught up in the manliness of the world, but being who they were created to be.
What drives you? What do you want to see happen in the world? What’s your passion? All those things are invitations from God Himself. Ask Him to show you what He wants you to do with them.
“The place that God calls us is the place where the world’s deep huger and our deep desires meet.” –
Frederick Buechner.
If you are called by God, whatever it is, no matter how ‘impossible’ it may seem, He will make a way for it to happen, in His timing and for His purpose.
Responding to God in our lives sometimes feels like the scariest and riskiest thing we’ve ever done. Risk=”exposing one’s life to the possibility of injury, damage, or loss.” – Webster’s Dictionary. When we love others, it’s hard. There’s a huge possibility of rejection. We can only step out in faith, without fear, when we rest in God’s care, with His reassurance. God wants us to share in our weakness and offer out beauty to others without fear. We have to trust Him.
“Do not give away to fear.” – 1 Peter 3:6
We need to be fully present in our lives. When we’re somewhere, try to be all there. Open up our hearts. Take God’s hand, He will lead us through life, the way He has it all planned.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”– Jeremiah 29:11
Dig a little deeper - Oct 1, 2008
The other morning I was listening to the radio and “Meant to Live” came on – this is what came to me:
We are meant to live for a lot more then society tells us. Society tells women they just need to look good on the outside, not caring what’s inside them, or the beauty they behold. Men are, by society, supposed to look hot and by physically strong. Both genders have way more to offer then what the society tell them they have.
We are like soil. There’s richness inside all of us, if we dig deep enough to find it. Sometimes the richness is deeper down, requiring more digging then others, but it is there. The biggest, tallest, and strongest trees have roots that must dig deep down into the soil to be able to grown the way they were meant to grow.
Be willing to sweat a little. Dig into the lives of your friends and others around you.
Scuba Diving - Sept 29, 2008
Proverbs 20:5
"The purpose in a man’s heart is like deep water,
but a man of understanding will draw it out."
I want to go scuba diving in a man’s deep waters. Not being afraid of the mystery that lies beneath, but knowing that there’s a deep, rich, strong, yet beautifully mysterious man hidden deep down there, just waiting to be explored. The dive may be scary, but it's worth it.
Fight - Sept 25, 2008
Women are strong warriors. We fight for different things then men do. Women fight for their own hearts and for the hearts of others. Women tend to the hearts and needs of people. We were created to have that desire to care for others. Women are designed to be mothers. Every woman, mother or not, has some mother like tendencies. We all “mother” people at some point in our lives, it just happens.
The other day I was having lunch with some friends and was acting as their mother. I told them, “I feel like I’m acting like your mother.” When they we were leaving, one of my friends turned to me and said, “Good-bye mother!” It was kind of funny.
That’s the kind of person I am. I want to take care of people. I want them to know someone’s thinking about them, even more so during trying times. Times when things are going wrong. Times when they have huge tests or tiny quizzes. Letting your friends know there is someone that believes in them and prays for them other than just their family.
When fighting for yourself or others, you have to fight for them physically, spiritually, and emotionally. They three are connected. When you are tired your emotions are messed up. When you’re physically sick, your emotions are messed up. When you’re emotionally drained, you become physically and
spiritually sick.
It’s easier to fight for someone other than to fight for ourselves. At the same time, it’s also difficult to fight for others because that requires you to bring your heart out in the open for others to accept or reject. When you’re heart gets rejected it’s hard to continue opening yourself up because it hurts, but when you’re accepted, it gives you hope and encourages you to continue opening your heart up to others. Fighting takes courage. You have to be brave enough that you’re not afraid of getting hurt, it will happen at some point.
To fight for someone, you have to encourage and pray for them. Help guide them along in the way they should go. Sometimes the battles we try and fight for others they need to fight for themselves. We need to be like the referee on the sidelines, telling the players that the Coach is right there with the playbook in His hands, trying to show us the way to go. You can’t fight any battles completely on your own. You need God’s strength and guidance, which you gain by reading His “playbook”.
If your relationship is falling apart for silly reasons, fight for it. Don’t let it die. Sometimes relationships are meant to dies, other times they are meant to live – some just need to be fought for so the other person knows that they aren’t in it alone, that the relationship isn’t one sided or a complete bust.
There are battles only men can fight and win. There are others that only women can fight and win. Your strength has to come together with others strength so you can accomplish that which you were created to do. “If we don’t do our job and fight for what we were created to fight for, then who will?” – Stacey
loved? - Sept 24, 2008
“Love is something like the clouds that were in the sky before the sun came out. You cannot touch the clouds, you know; but you feel the rain and know how glad the flowers and the thirsty earth are to have it after a hot day. You cannot touch love either; but you can feel the sweetness that it pours into everything. Without love you would not be happy or want to play (Keller).”
When someone is not loved or doesn't feel loved, you can tell. You can see it in their personality, the way they carry themselves, and the way they treat others. Someone who is loved and knows they are loved is more likely to treat others kindly and take better care of themselves.
It's true that you cannot touch love, but when it is or is not present, you can tell. No one is happy without love. I can tell you that your day goes much smoother and you feel better when you feel the love. I don't like to spend time with people that aren't lovely. I do want to show them love, but it drags you down if you spend too much time with them.
When people don't show love to me I feel like just another number in the world. When I'm with someone I want them to listen, to encourage, to have a conversation, be it meaningful or silly (I have a lot more silly ones then serious ones, but they are the spice of life!) I can go from serious to silly and right back again with some of my friends. I want others to feel loved when they're around me.
“Love’s not a fight, but it’s something worth fighting for”
That song has become one of my favorite songs. When I love something or someone I’m going to fight for it or them. I want people that love me to fight for me, whether it is standing up for me, physically, spiritually, emotionally, or whatever. If you love me, you’re not going to let other people tell you not to love me. You’re not going to let silly unimportant stuff get in the way.
I have also discovered that when I love someone, I want them to be happy no matter what. If making them happy means that I don’t get to be in their life then, yes, I’m going to be sad, but I still love them and want them to be happy.
Men and women, NOT men vs. women - sept 19, 2008
Recently I’ve been hearing some crazy stuff about guys and girls, who’s superior to whom, kind of thing. We’re living in a men vs. women society when is should be men and women working together to make the world, themselves, and others better.
Since I’ve been reading Wild at Heart and Captivating, I tend to side with the guys a little bit more then I used to. I believe that girls can do anything they put their mind to, but there are some things that guys are just supposed to do and some things that women are just supposed to do.
I’m not saying guys can be chauvinistic and all, “well you’re a girl so you can’t do that” or “You’re just one of ‘them’” (referring to the fact that girls aren’t individuals, we are all one. We have no opinions and if we do, then they aren’t worth anything.) I am saying that there are some things girls are good at and some things guys are good at and you should do what you’re good at.
We need guys to help us do things. Some things we think we can do on our own but we can’t. Women need someone strong that they can depend on and trust. We aren’t weak, we are strong, but we are strong in different ways.
I don’t think that men are a rough draft and that women are the perfection. God created us all. No one is perfect. We were created to be perfect but that plan failed in Eden, Eve gave into the snake (btw – Satan went after the woman because he feared her beauty) and Adam gave into Eve instead of standing up for her and to her. Both men and women should stand up, respectively, to the other when need be. I also don’t think that just because we were formed from Adam that that means they are better than us and all that.
Women were created after Adam to be Adam’s help mate, his life saver. God said that “it is not good for man to be alone.” He needs a help mate. That is when Eve came into the picture. We need men. They are strong, protective, and fun to have around, but we also need women. Women are sensitive and caring. Men and women were created to work together and balance each other out. They work amazingly together. Without one or the other, the world would be completely different.
Boys and men alike have that desire to be wild and fight for what they want/believe. Women tend to be more caring and compassionate. We both need to stand up for what we believe in and love. Men should stand up for women. Protect them. Women need to respect men. In marriage men are the head of the household, that doesn’t give men the right to take advantage of their wives. It does give them the control to make the decisions to protect, care for, and love them.
There really are guys out there that have a passion and compassion.
They are strong and, I know they don't want me to call them beautiful, but that's really what they are! They reveal their strength, beauty, and compassion through their actions and words.
They’re unselfish and all about helping others.
I know they are compassionate somewhere deep inside themselves; it just isn't always so predominate. They have strength inside them.
What they want to do with their lives takes strength.
They have a passion to serve God
Beauty and inspiration - Sept 4, 2008
in this last week i've had three guys inspire me - there really are guys out there that have a passion and compassion.
They are strong and, i know they don't want me to call them beautiful, but that's really what they were! They revealed their strength, beauty, and compassion through their actions and words.
1) last week I was at a football game and at the end of the game, after the huddle, all the football players started to get up from their spots on the field. my sister then points out that they are back on their knees - praying! At first I didn't believe it, a highschool football team praying on the field after the game... they really were and right in the middle of the huddle, leading the prayer was my sisters friends. A 17 year old highschool senior, leading prayer in font of his football team after the game. AMAZING!
I was very inspired by that. There are guys that will stand up for their faith, in front of their friends and school. Revealing their strength.
2 and 3) in the caf today I was listening to two of my friends talking about what their dreams are for when they're finished with school. I didn't get alot of info about their whole dream, but the parts that I did hear about were AMAZING! They both were passionate about what they wanted to do and where they wanted to go and who they wanted to help. I was totally inspired by their dreams. They were unselfish and all about helping others. I wanted to cry. I knew they were compassionate somewhere inside themselves, it just isn't always so predominate. They have a strength inside them. What they want to do with their lives takes strength. They have a passion to serve God.
I would have the toughest time with it. I would love those people they want to help some much that it would physically hurt. I would be a wreck all the time.
I also had another female friend inspire me with her desire to help people in another way that I never could. She is strong in a way that I am not. She is compassionate, but not as emotional as I. She is beautiful.
The things she wants to do would kill me. I had people tell me at one point in my life to be a psychologist or a social worker. There's no way I could do either one of those. I'm not strong enough. I would always be in tears for those children in DCF - see what those kids have gone through. I know it's going to be hard enough as a teacher seeing the kids that are not shown love and whos hearts are ridged and broken.
Open yourself up. Be vulnerable, not just to anyone, but to the people who love you. Be who you were created to be. Unveil your beauty.
Take my heart away, as long as you treat it right - Sept 3, 2008
Take my heart away, as long as you treat it right
Last week at Bible study Stacey was talking about how you give your heart away and how Jesus guards it. She was saying how sometimes she’ll give her heart to someone and Jesus will “run after them and say ‘Wait! I need that back, thanks’ returning it to her saying ‘they don’t need that part.’”
I feel the same way sometimes. There are people I give my heart to that don’t need it, they just want to play with it, if they want it at all. God is kind and loving enough to chase after them, take it away, and bring it safely back to me to keep safe for someone who will treat it right. Sometimes I can be stubborn; continuing to give my heart to the same person over and over, even after Jesus has taken it and given it back to me again and again.
Then there are the people I don’t want to give part of my heart to. God keeps letting them run off with it though. There’s always a purpose when God lets someone have your heart. There are also the people I’ve given my heart to and keep trying to get it back from them because I feel they are a distraction. I’ve tried many times to take my heart back from them, but sometimes it seems that when I take it away Jesus says “Wait a minute, give that back!” and I’m right back where I started.
I know there’s a reason behind it all, though sometimes I don’t know what it is. One day it will all be clear to me! The people who need my heart will have it and the people who don’t won’t. It’s all God’s timing and plan. Sometimes I wonder if God see my own plans for my life and starts laughing saying, “If you only knew how much better your life is going to be!” I’m so thankful His ways are better, wiser, and even more amazing then I can even imagine!
You know those people - Aug 15, 2008
You know those people
You know those people that have done the worst things to you, that you should hate but can’t? I have some of those… It’s crazy. I know that we’re supposed to love everybody (love your enemy, pray for those who persecute you) and I try to, it’s just those people have hurt you so badly you don’t want to love them, but even when you’re angry with them you still can’t help but love them.
You know those people that absolutely broke your heart but you can’t help but love them? I do. I sit here thinking about my broken heart and how I know I’ve broken others hearts. It makes me sad to think that I’ve made another person feel the way I feel. Either by saying something rude, not loving them like I should, rejecting their love, etc.
You know those people that you give chances to time and time again but they keep screwing up and you’re so frustrated with them? We have to continually forgive them. We don’t have to let them walk all over us, we can say, “I forgive you, but we cannot be put in the position for this to happen again.” We’re those people sometimes. We continually screw up with God and He keeps on lovingly giving us His grace. His infinite chances!
If you’re one of those people I’ve hurt, I ask for your forgiveness. I do apologize for not always being as beautiful and loving as I should be. I love each and every one of you, no matter how we’ve hurt each other. I may not like you because you’ve hurt me. I may not trust you again because you took advantage of me. I still love you.
I sit here with tears because of the power of love. I can’t believe I can love someone some much. In awe because God loves me even more then I love you all.
Perfect love casts out fear - Aug 8, 2008
Perfect Love Casts Out Fear
We don’t have to be afraid. God is honest and true. His word is the truth we should depend on. It doesn’t matter what anyone else says or how anyone else makes us feel. He loves us with a perfect love that should make us unafraid (1 John 4:18), (1 John 4:8). He’s the provider of our strength (Psalms 18:32).
We don’t have to be afraid because God has promised great things. He has our future set. His ways are perfect and better than anything any of us could imagine. He has planned our lives according to His desire. He desires only the best for our lives (Jeremiah 29:11).
We have no reason to fear. God will fight for us (Deuteronomy 3:22), (Exodus 14:14). God has proven Himself time and time again throughout the years. He has an amazing track record. He always fulfils His promises (Joshua 23:14). God has our best in mind; He knows all our need, even before we know what we need (Matthew 6:8), (Philippians 4:19).
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1 John 4:18 (NIV)
18 There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.
1 John 4:8 (NIV)
8 Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.
Psalms 18:32 (NIV)
32 It is God who arms me with strength
and makes my way perfect.
Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)
11 For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
Deuteronomy 3:22 (NIV)
22 Do not be afraid of them; the LORD your God himself will fight for you."
Exodus 14:14 (NIV)
14 The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still."
Joshua 23:14 (NIV)
14 "Now I am about to go the way of all the earth. You know with all your heart and soul that not one of all the good promises the LORD your God gave you has failed. Every promise has been fulfilled; not one has failed.

Boy, you make me smile - Aug 4, 2008
Boy, You Make Me Smile
I was in the Starting Point (4-5 year olds) classroom on Sunday morning at my church. As I was sitting in the playroom with all the kids at the beginning of class, it was so hard to just sit there and watch the boys run around and play fight. I wanted to tell them that they needed to be careful, calm down, stop running, and play nicely. That’s all fine and good, and if they’d been doing anything that was going to cause harm I would have, but they were just being boys.
I sat there and thought about Wild at Heart and how it talks about the fact that boys have that desire to be wild and fight for what they want/believe. I had to stop myself and let them be boys, watching to make sure they were safe, but smile all the while as they were working on becoming the men they were meant to be.

Today at Bible study Molly was talking about how in Captivating, Stasi talks about seeing the beauty of the earth and how that’s God romancing us into a relationship with him. When I got home from work I was thinking about today and the beauty that I saw.
I was at work standing around when there was nothing to do and I peaked outside to see what the weather was like and there was an amazing sunset outside. The sky was an amazing shade of pink and purple. The clouds were spread out just so. I wanted to take pictures of it so badly but I was at work and didn’t have my camera.
I didn’t really think about it at the time, but when I got home I realized that that was God, showing me His beauty, saying “I love you. I want your heart. I made that just for you.” As I was writing that, it came to mind something that Stacey said at Bible study last night, everything that God made became more beautiful and detailed the farther into creation He went. God created women last. We are more beautiful, detailed, and intricate then the sunset, then anything in all creation. We were created last, not as an afterthought, but as the cherry on top of all creation. The finishing touch.
The more I think about it, the more I hear God saying, “You think that’s beautiful? I created you, as a woman, to be much more beautiful then that sunset.”

People are my passion - July 17, 2008
~ People Are My Passion ~
God’s heart is for people. My heart is for people. I have a connection with people. I will listen to anyone; I will feel anyone’s pain. When you cry, I want to cry. When you laugh, I can’t help but laugh. It doesn’t matter how many times you’ve hurt me, I will still care about you. I may not care for you, but I will always care about someone that’s been in my life.
Sometimes when people that have hurt me are sad, I try and say that it doesn’t make me sad, that I’m glad that they are hurting like they hurt me, but in reality, I still hurt when they hurt. I still want to cry when I see them cry.
When something good happens to someone that’s hurt me I want to pretend that it makes me mad. How can something so good happen to someone that was so mean, but I just can’t. I will still feel joy for you. I may not like it, but I can’t help but be happy.
It’s just the way I’m wired. I have a heart for people. I have an even bigger heart for children. When I see a child laugh and smile I can’t help but laugh and smile. When a child cries it kills me.
As a woman I have a fierce devotion, an ability to suffer hardship, and a vision to make the world a better place. I have a fierce devotion to my family and friends – to the people I love and my passions. I have suffered many a hardships, between deaths of people I love, broken friendships, and broken hearts.
I have a vision to make the world a better place. That is why I am going to become a teacher. I want the children that are growing up in this crazy world to have someone teaching them the right things when they are younger, even if they aren’t getting taught the right things at home. I want them to have a respect for people at a young age, I want them to know that someone really does care about them no matter what, and I want to make a difference in their lives.
I have a friend that inspires me every time I hear her speak. She is so passionate about what she loves and it shows. When she comes home from mission trips I love to listen to her tell stories. She speaks with such a passionate, loving heart that it makes tears well up inside my eyes. When she prays, she has a way about her words; she speaks as if she were talking to someone right there in the room, with the same passion she uses when she tells us stories about her trips. She makes me fired up. I want the same passion that she has.
I am woman. I am fierce. I am devoted. I am irreplaceable. I am beautiful. I have a heart for people. I am the cherry on top of all creation. I am a mystery. I am loved.

Beauty comes from the heart - July 17, 2008
~ Beauty Comes from the Heart ~
As I sit here and think about all the things in life, one thing that always comes back to me is beauty and love. Every girl wants to know that they are beautiful and loved. I’ve been reading a book called “Captivating”, it is an amazing book about the beauty of women and the role we play in this world.
God created us after His own image. Just as women are caring, protective, emotional, loving, giving, and jealous – so is God. God cares about us; after all, He created us. Wouldn’t you care about something you created? He is protective, He will only let some much happen to us and it will never be more then we can bear. We are emotional, but God created those emotions, and they are good, we just have to learn how to control them. God loves us so much He gave His one and only Son for us to die on the cross. He gives us everything we need; He knows what we need before we even ask, though He wants us to ask. God is a jealous God. He doesn’t us to have any other gods.
Women were created after Adam to be Adam’s help mate, his life saver. God said that “it is not good for man to be alone.” He needs a help mate. That is when Eve came into the picture. We need men. They are strong, protective, and fun to have around, but we also need women. Women are sensitive and caring. Men and women were created to work together and balance each other out. They work amazingly together. Without one or the other, the world would be completely different.
Beauty is not just an outward thing. Beauty mostly comes from the heart. You can be a great looking person on the outside but there has to be something inside you making you happy and giving you life. Inward beauty comes from having joy, peace, love, respect, trust, and much more.
When someone is truly beautiful on the inside it shows on the outside.
I recently had a run in with that. I was not really having a great week. I felt like crud, and was sure I looked like it too. At work one night, one of my coworkers said “You’re smile is so bright, there must be a new guy in your life.”
In reality, it was just the opposite; a guy had just walked out of my life but I had a new found joy and happiness in being single.
When I told him that there wasn’t one he asked “why doesn’t a beautiful young girl like you have a boyfriend?” I had been asked that two or three times that week. I honestly would assume that it’s one of three things, that the right guy isn’t in my life right now, it isn’t the right time, or he just hasn’t stepped up to the plate yet. The time will come and I’ll be completely overjoyed and so glad that I didn’t settle for anyone else.
I want to be the kind of girl that’s beautiful on the inside and outside. I want my inward beauty to be so apparent that it can’t help but shine through and make me so joyful that people stop and say, “wow, there’s something’ different about her.” I want to be the “help mate/life saver” that I was intended, as a woman, to be.

Chasing '08 - March 1, 2008
Tonight after work I went to a conference at church called “Chasing ‘08”. It is really good so far. The one thing that David Perkins, the speaker said tonight was that “True love gives ALL.” When you truly love someone you give them your everything. You don’t only give them the things you want to give them, than you don’t truly love them with all your heart.
I realized that it doesn't matter what I want, who I want, or when I want it, everything is in God's timing. (I've always known that, i just have to be reminded, a lot.) If I'm focused on what I want and who I want and when I want it then I'm not going to see what God wants me to do, who He wants me to spend time with, or when He wants me to do something.
If I'm focused on something over there and God's calling me to something over here and I’m not paying attention because there's something over there that I want really badly, then I'm going to miss out on some wonderful things, amazing people, and so great times.
I also realized that i have to get to the spot in my relationship with God that when I go off to camp I'm not being hypocritical to those girls. When i say something to those girls I need to also be living by it. I always hate it when someone in charge tells me I should do something but then they don't turn around and do the opposite. I want to be the person that does what they say others should do.
Tomorrow I have another amazing conference to go to. I'm praying that I learn more and more to help me as I continue to grow in this walk of life

My best thinking is at night - Jan 27, 2008
Sometimes...you have to take chances
Sometimes...you have to be afraid of getting hurt and do it anyways
Sometimes...life will surprise you
Sometimes...you get the best feeling in the world
Sometimes...you get the worst
Sometimes...you find true love
Sometimes...you get hurt
Sometimes...you feel as though you'll never love again
Sometimes...things dont go our way
Sometimes...you find happiness
Sometimes...you find joy
Sometimes...you find out that it wasn't meant to be
Sometimes...you find out that what is meant to be is something you never expected.
Don't...be afraid to dream
Do...be afraid of love, but don't let it stop you from loving
Don't...be too trusting, but don't be too untrusting
Look...toward the future
Love...the present
Don't...forget the past
Remember...the people who have always been there
Remember...your loves
Don't...loose your passion
There is a plan and purpose for everything that happens
Live...like there's no tomorrow
Love...unconditionally
Laugh...like you've never laughed before
Always...be prepared for the unexpected
Find...joy in the little things
Don't...be afraid to say "I love you"
Always...mean what you say
Always...say what you mean
Never...forget that I love you
I will...always be there for you
Listen...to your heart, but don't loose your head
Don't...settle
Don't...forget your friends
When...you're thinking about someone, drop them a note
Be...honest, with yourself, and others
Love...others
Love...yourself
Love...God

Life is about - Jan 4, 2008
Just something that i wrote down tonight... I know it needs some work, but i thought i'd share it..
life is about taking chances.
life is about doing something even thought you're afraid.
life is about depeneding on your friends and family to help you along in times of trouble.
life is about loving people unconditionally.
life is about being there when someone needs you.
life is about taking care of those that need help.
life is about the feeling you get when you think about that someone special,
the smile on your face and the butterflies in your stomach.
life is about loving the people you would really love to hate.
life is about following your dreams.
live is about telling people how you feel.
life is about going through the six basic emotions at some point;
anger,sadness, fear, disgust, happiness, and surprise.
life is about the way you treat those you care about.
life is about being honest.
life is about laughing.
life is about sharing God's love.
life is about spending time with those you care about.
